Proceeding contribution from Richard Burden (Labour) in the House of Commons on Tuesday, 14 June 2005. It occurred during Adjournment debate on MG Rover.

MG Rover

: There is consensus among serious commentators that the closure or massive downsizing of Longbridge in 2000 would have led to a great many job losses. I pay tribute to the work done by Advantage West Midlands, the Industry Forum, the suppliers and the manufacturing advisory service in encouraging the supply base to diversify.
