Proceeding contribution from Lord Warner (Labour) in the House of Lords on Wednesday, 23 November 2005. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee proceeding on NHS Redress Bill [HL].
NHS Redress Bill [HL]
Obviously, I did not make the matter perfectly clear. If a case is absolutely outside the provisions in the Limitation Act 1980, the Bill does not affect that one way or another. It stops proceedings in relation to redress scheme cases in appropriate circumstances, so that people are made no worse off than their rights under the Limitation Act 1980. It does not change or extend the provisions in that Act.
