Proceeding contribution from Earl Howe (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Wednesday, 23 November 2005. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee proceeding on NHS Redress Bill [HL].
NHS Redress Bill [HL]
I thank the Minister for that encouraging reply. It illuminates the position helpfully because until now we have been considering PALS and ICAS almost as the only options. But I am glad to hear that this is not necessarily a one-size-fits-all clause. If I have understood the noble Baroness correctly, there could be a more varied menu of assistance open to the complainant. That is right; this need not necessarily be confined to the existing organisations. We could think in broader terms. Perhaps we will return to this issue at a later stage. Clause 9 agreed to. Clause 10 [Scheme members]: [Amendment No. 54 not moved.]
