Identity Cards Bill

My Lords, I am grateful for the comments of the noble Baroness, Lady Anelay of St Johns, and indications given by the noble Lord, Lord Phillips of Sudbury. I am pleased that we have been able to give a modicum of pleasure to the noble Lords, Lord Crickhowell and Lord Stoddart of Swindon. Even my noble friend Lord Barnett has had a little pleasure—I see him smiling—as has the noble Earl, Lord Erroll. We now have a mechanism where costs can be looked on a six-month rolling basis. We see that there are advantages, and I can reassure my noble friend Lord Barnett that the Treasury has lost none of its edge. On Question, Motion agreed to.
