Proceeding contribution from David Leslie Taylor (Labour) in the House of Commons on Thursday, 16 March 2006. It occurred during Adjournment debate on Quadripartite Committee Reports.
Quadripartite Committee Reports
: I endorse my hon. Friend's comment, which underlines what I said at the start: if we as a Government, and the taxpayers at large, are being asked to fund 500 civil servants in the Ministry of Defence—in DESO—to promote the very arms sales that another arm of Government is trying to ensure are going to appropriate regimes, it defies belief that the comment in the Government response should be expressed in those terms. It does not add up at all.
