Proceeding contribution from Lord Goodhart (Liberal Democrat) in the House of Lords on Thursday, 16 March 2006. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee proceeding on Electoral Administration Bill.

Electoral Administration Bill

To make my position clearer, I was not suggesting that there was an actual cost to the Government. They cover their costs. If this is going to commercial organisations, if it continues, the Government might think of making a profit from it and thereby reducing the burden on the taxpayer.
