Proceeding contribution from Lord Hodgson of Astley Abbotts (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Tuesday, 28 March 2006. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee proceeding on Company Law Reform Bill [HL].
Company Law Reform Bill [HL]
The noble Lord, Lord Sharman, has made a powerful case. As the noble Lord, Lord Sainsbury, keeps telling us that the Government wish to think ““small first””, this is an occasion on which they can do so by striking out this power of compulsion. The noble Lord, Lord Sharman, has made a powerful argument, particularly in regard to smaller companies.
