Proceeding contribution from Lord Jopling (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Thursday, 20 April 2006. It occurred during Committee of the Whole House (HL) and Debate on bill on Lighter Evenings (Experiment) Bill [HL].
Lighter Evenings (Experiment) Bill [HL]
My Lords, in view of what has been said, and particularly in view of the helpful remarks of the Minister, pointing out that there may be technical errors in my amendment, I think it would be best at this stage if I were to withdraw the amendment. We can come back to it later. But, dare I say it, I think the noble Lord has had a good run for his money at both Second Reading and today. This Bill has no future and the most helpful thing he could do would be to withdraw the Bill, as I ask leave to withdraw the amendment. I beg leave to withdraw the amendment. Amendment, by leave, withdrawn. [Amendment No. 5 not moved.] Clause 5, as amended, agreed to. In the Title:
