Proceeding contribution from Lord Hodgson of Astley Abbotts (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Wednesday, 10 May 2006. It occurred during Debate on bill on Company Law Reform Bill [HL].
Company Law Reform Bill [HL]
My Lords, we then have to consult the charities. Perhaps I may say that we sat through eight days in Grand Committee on the Charities Bill and there was an enormous amount of consultation. There is really nothing more to be said about this. To have a consultation and then to say, ““We might bring something in if this is the outcome in another place”” I am afraid is not good enough. I wish to test the opinion of the House. On Question, Whether the said amendment (No. 223) shall be agreed to? Their Lordships divided: Contents, 142; Not-Contents, 120.
