Proceeding contribution from Andrew Miller (Labour) in the House of Commons on Monday, 15 May 2006. It occurred during Debate on bill on Legislative and Regulatory Reform Bill.
Legislative and Regulatory Reform Bill
I shall not be so churlish as to ask the right hon. Gentleman why he did not do this as a Minister. Recommendation 2 of the report by my Committee, the Regulatory Reform Committee, states:"““We reaffirm the recommendation of our predecessor Committee that Departments should be assessed on their progress in removing unnecessary regulations and controls and not simply on their progress in simplifying matters.””" Does he agree with that?
