Darfur Crisis

I know that the hon. Gentleman has taken a close and passionate interest in the crisis in Darfur, and I applaud him for that. I can tell him that, in his most recent briefing to the UN Security Council on 13 December 2005, the ICC prosecutor stated that"““the Office had made good progress””" in the investigation’s first phase and that the next phase would"““seek the further assistance and cooperation of the Government of the Sudan””." We have certainly made it clear to the Government of Sudan that we expect nothing less than full co-operation. I can also tell the hon. Gentleman that, as far as I am aware, the ICC has raised no concerns about co-operation since that last briefing. If there is any further information, beyond that which is available to me, that I can make available to the hon. Gentleman in response to his question, I will write to him with it, if that is all right.
