Proceeding contribution from Lord Dholakia (Liberal Democrat) in the House of Lords on Tuesday, 4 July 2006. It occurred during Committee of the Whole House (HL) and Debate on bill on Police and Justice Bill.
Police and Justice Bill
I did not make that promise that this was a probing amendment, but as there is still plenty of time before we have the dinner break I shall say that I am grateful to the Minister for her comments. The matter was brought to our attention by Liberty, with which I shall discuss the Minister's response. In the mean time, I beg leave to withdraw the amendment. Amendment, by leave, withdrawn. [Amendment No. 87 not moved.] Schedule 4 agreed to. Clause 9 [Power to detain pending DPP’s decision about charging]:
