Proceeding contribution from Lembit Opik (Liberal Democrat) in the House of Commons on Thursday, 10 May 2007. It occurred during Debate on bill on Justice and Security (Northern Ireland) Bill.

Justice and Security (Northern Ireland) Bill

Indeed. This shows a lack of joined-up thinking, or joined-up thinking that is so poor that I call for the Prime Minister’s resignation. I believe that I will secure it, and then I shall take the credit. It would not harm the Government sometimes to accept amendments that are perfectly good even if they do not come from the Government’s own stable. It would show good faith and good will, at no cost to the integrity of the legislation.
