Independent Sector Treatment Centres
The right hon. Gentleman said that there had been insufficient data gathering in and around ISTCs. He also said that there was no evidence that the complication rate in ISTCs was worse than in comparable hospitals, but how does he tie the two together? If the data are not being collected, surely we cannot infer that the complication rate is higher or lower, either among ISTCs or between ISTCs and the mainstream NHS.
