Proceeding contribution from Norman Baker (Liberal Democrat) in the House of Commons on Friday, 18 May 2007. It occurred during Debate on bill on Freedom of Information (Amendment) Bill.
Freedom of Information (Amendment) Bill
The case that the right hon. Member for Penrith and The Border (David Maclean) seems to be putting is that if a letter is written by a Member of Parliament to a public authority official, that official might release the letter by mistake, but that if the Bill were passed, the official would know not to do that. That is an absurd proposition.
