My Lords, it is not being suggested that the Lord Chief Justice is in a more powerful position through the language which will go into the Bill if the Commons view prevails. I shall not add any more words. We all know the issue. I wish to test the opinion of the House. On Question, Whether the said Motion (No. C1) shall be agreed to? Their Lordships divided: Contents, 70; Not-Contents, 111. On Question, Motion C agreed to.
