I was just completing my reply to the amendment moved by the noble Lord, Lord Hodgson. I should point out—I am grateful to my noble friend Lord Desai for this—that paragraph 6(5) states: "““A person who has ceased to be an ordinary member is eligible for reappointment for a further term or terms””." That makes the point that the five years is a maximum that may or may not be used. Our view is that that is a useful flexibility. For those reasons, we are tempted to stick by what is in the schedule.
