Proceeding contribution from John Bercow (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Friday, 1 February 2008. It occurred during Debate on bill on Special Educational Needs (Information) Bill.

Special Educational Needs (Information) Bill

My hon. Friend is making a fantastic speech. I know that she will not be disappointed to hear that in the Education and Skills Public Bill Committee yesterday morning, which I had the privilege of chairing, my hon. Friend the Member for Bognor Regis and Littlehampton did indeed dilate for an appreciable period on the subject of synthetic phonics in amendment No. 1 to clause 1, because I allowed him what I thought was an appropriate latitude.
