Proceeding contribution from Jack Straw (Labour) in the House of Commons on Tuesday, 5 February 2008. It occurred during Debate and Debate on treaty on Lisbon Treaty (No. 3).
Lisbon Treaty (No. 3)
No; I am going to finish, and I have already given way to the hon. Gentleman. To conclude my previous point, as my hon. Friend the Member for Hemsworth (Jon Trickett) knows, the issue of agency workers has been the subject of considerable discussion in this country and between us and other member states. That can be, and will be—there is no reason why it should not be—resolved within existing treaty arrangements, notwithstanding the fact that we do not currently have the benefit of the treaty including the charter.
