Lisbon Treaty (No. 3)
The hon. Gentleman says that the debate has to answer the question of whether the charter of fundamental rights extends the competences of the Union. Has he read article 6.1? It states:"ββThe provisions of the Charter shall not extend in any way the competences of the Union as defined in the Treaties.ββ"
