Proceeding contribution from Baroness Andrews (Labour) in the House of Lords on Thursday, 21 February 2008. It occurred during Debates on delegated legislation on Northumberland (Structural Change) Order 2008.

Northumberland (Structural Change) Order 2008

I am very grateful to the noble Baroness for drawing that to our attention, and our officials will write to follow up that point. I think that I have addressed most of the issues that were raised. With regard to the point about capability, if the orders come into effect by 26 February, the Electoral Commission and Boundary Committee assure us that they will be able to complete their work in time for the elections in 2009. They expect the reviews to be completed by February of that year. Those bodies are very efficient and I think we can take comfort from that. On Question, Motion agreed to.
