Proceeding contribution from Lord Bach (Labour) in the House of Lords on Wednesday, 27 February 2008. It occurred during Committee of the Whole House (HL) and Debate on bill on Criminal Justice and Immigration Bill.
Criminal Justice and Immigration Bill
moved Amendment No. 102A: 102A: Schedule 5, Transpose Schedule 5 to after Schedule 7 The noble Lord said: I hope this government amendment will be less controversial than the last one I spoke to. The amendment simply ensures that the schedules in volume II appear in the right order. I am sure that it has been spotted by many noble Lords on reading volume II that Schedule 5, which is introduced by Clause 39, should appear after Schedule 7, which is introduced by Clause 23. Consequential numbering will also be needed. This will be done by printing should your Lordships agree to the amendment. This is not an otiose amendment; there was no other way to put this right other than by tabling an amendment. I beg to move.
