Proceeding contribution from Earl Ferrers (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Monday, 3 March 2008. It occurred during Committee of the Whole House (HL) and Debate on bill on Criminal Justice and Immigration Bill.

Criminal Justice and Immigration Bill

Before my noble friend takes that auspicious step, he said he was sure that the Minister would consider this to see whether he would improve on it. That is not what the Minister said. He said, ““We think the Bill is right as it is””. Before my noble friend withdraws the amendment, he ought to get an undertaking from the Minister that he will consider what has been said with a view to seeing whether the Bill can be improved.
