Proceeding contribution from Lord Hannay of Chiswick (Crossbench) in the House of Lords on Wednesday, 14 May 2008. It occurred during Committee of the Whole House (HL) and Debate on bill on European Union (Amendment) Bill.

European Union (Amendment) Bill

I objected to the decision to have a referendum in 2004. I have objected to every single decision to have a referendum. I am afraid that I am not prepared to sit and be told that I have reneged on anything.
