Proceeding contribution from Paul Flynn (Labour) in the House of Commons on Wednesday, 16 July 2008. It occurred during Adjournment debate on Road Safety.

Road Safety

It is important that we nail that particular blind alley, because it is not a solution. The Transport Committee said that"““a reformed education and training framework will instil a more responsible approach to driving””," but,"““there exists little evidence that this will be adequate.””" It is not the way ahead. We need some of what my hon. Friend the Member for Pendle (Mr. Prentice) called reforms, which we have been crying out for over many years, not improved training, which will have very little effect.
