Proceeding contribution from Tony Wright (Labour) in the House of Commons on Monday, 20 October 2008. It occurred during Debate on bill on Political Parties and Elections Bill.

Political Parties and Elections Bill

I am puzzled by the right hon. Gentleman's description of the fate of the Hayden Phillips talks. We do not have Hayden Phillips to tell us, but we do have the specialist academic adviser Professor Justin Fisher, who says:"““The desire to jeopardise the entire relationship between Labour and the unions is not reasonable. It appears nakedly partisan””." Is that not the truth of what happened?
