Proceeding contribution from David Drew (Labour) in the House of Commons on Wednesday, 29 April 2009. It occurred during Adjournment debate on Honey Bee Health.
Honey Bee Health
I agree entirely with the hon. Gentleman. Surely one of the ways in which we can improve knowledge is to be more transparent about which pesticides are used, who uses them and how much they are used, as that affects humans as well as bees. The Committee on Toxicity of Chemicals in Food, Consumer Products and the Environment, and the advisory panel on pesticides are still far too covert in the way in which they operate. It is time that we had decent information, which would no doubt provide us with interesting facts about the impact of pesticides on bees as well as human beings.
