Proceeding contribution from Lord Campbell-Savours (Labour) in the House of Lords on Thursday, 30 April 2009. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee proceeding on Political Parties and Elections Bill.

Political Parties and Elections Bill

My noble friend used the key word "approval". It may well be that a recommendation comes through, and it is that process of approval about which I am concerned. On the question of withdrawal, in the expenses discussion that will now take place in the Committee on Standards in Public Life, the political representatives are withdrawing from those proceedings. That might be an indication of the way we should proceed in this case as well.
