Proceeding contribution from Bob Spink (Independent (affiliation)) in the House of Commons on Monday, 1 June 2009. It occurred during Debate on bill on Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Bill [Lords].
Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Bill [Lords]
As the hon. Gentleman is talking about safety and flooding, does he share my disappointment that the economic assessment duty on local authorities does not extend to parish and town councils, such as Canvey Island town council in my constituency, and does not give equal weight to environmental, social and safety issues that affect Canvey Island, such as flooding and major accident hazard sites?
