Proceeding contribution from David Heath (Liberal Democrat) in the House of Commons on Wednesday, 10 June 2009. It occurred during Opposition day on Dissolution of Parliament.
Dissolution of Parliament
On the hon. Gentleman's earlier reference to Twickenham, I should say that I seem to remember being hurled rather forcibly by a second row forward at him, rather than simply collapsing on top of him. But that is not the point. The hon. Gentleman is now articulating a raft of reforms that some Members, on both sides, have been advocating year after year—but those on the Treasury Bench have refused to accept them. Why should we believe now that there is a realistic timetable for introducing those reforms as a matter of urgency? If there is such a timetable, will he tell us precisely what it is?
