Proceeding contribution from Lord Wills (Labour) in the House of Commons on Monday, 13 July 2009. It occurred during Debate on bill on Political Parties and Elections Bill.

Political Parties and Elections Bill

As always, we have had a very interesting little exchange on these matters, but the contributions from Opposition Members been unusually baffling and illogical. Of course, I agree with the hon. Member for Argyll and Bute (Mr. Reid). He is quite right that we need to get this done as quickly as possible, but the contributions that we have heard from both Opposition Front Benchers demonstrate exactly why we need to allow a little bit of time for the Opposition to get their act together.
