Proceeding contribution from Ian Lucas (Labour) in the House of Commons on Thursday, 29 October 2009. It occurred during Topical debate on Fireworks Safety.

Fireworks Safety

Clearly, the sort of behaviour that my hon. Friend describes is completely unacceptable. Of course, there would be sanctions for that sort of behaviour in the criminal law other than those available under fireworks legislation. That type of behaviour would be a criminal offence. We have made progress on fireworks. Post from my constituency on the matter has decreased substantially since I was elected in 2001, but we continue to treat the matter very seriously.
