Arms Export Controls

The Government have been clear about the strength of their position on torture—they are not prepared to countenance torture or to be involved with items used for torture. The position of Her Majesty's Government is very clear and I am certain that it will be maintained by any Government whatever their political colour. As I said, I greatly value today's debate. I will reflect on the arguments that have been made in any decisions that I take. I am grateful to all Members for their contributions, and I will come back to them with written responses to the specific items that I have not been able to deal with.
