Proceeding contribution from Andrew Dismore (Labour) in the House of Commons on Friday, 5 February 2010. It occurred during Debate on bill on Anti-Slavery Day Bill.

Anti-Slavery Day Bill

I am not quite sure what the hon. Gentleman has in mind, but I think I have made my point. In fact, I was about to sit down, but I thought that he would like to get his intervention in. I approve of the concept of an anti-slavery day, but there are problems with the text. If the Bill does not become law or if the Government are not prepared to support it, I hope that the Government will give the concept, at least, their blessing and, at the same time, see what they can do to show the Government's commitment to tackling these issues.
