Proceeding contribution from Lord McKenzie of Luton (Labour) in the House of Lords on Thursday, 11 March 2010. It occurred during Debates on delegated legislation on Social Security Benefits Up-rating Order 2010.

Social Security Benefits Up-rating Order 2010

We could debate the semantics around it for ever. However, it is used in large measure, as I have outlined, for pensions. It takes us into the issue of contributory principles and that much wider debate—which is perhaps a debate for another day. Having said that, I commend the order to noble Lords. Motion agreed.
