Proceeding contribution from Ann Keen (Labour) in the House of Commons on Friday, 12 March 2010. It occurred during Debate on bill on Sunbeds (Regulation) Bill.
Sunbeds (Regulation) Bill
These points were addressed in Committee. I therefore suggest that the hon. Gentleman reads the record of the proceedings in Committee, where he might find the answers he seeks. Amendment 25 relates to clause 9. Clause 9(2) allows for a director, manager or secretary of a body corporate who agrees to play a part in, or turns their back on, the commission of an offence under the Bill to be guilty of the offence, in addition to the company. The effect of amendment 25 would be that those individuals would be caught by this provision only where they had actually committed the offence themselves. That would make the provision too narrow. I ask the hon. Member for Christchurch to withdraw his amendment.
