Proceeding contribution from Damian Green (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Wednesday, 17 March 2010. It occurred during Adjournment debate on Migrant Domestic Workers (Visas).
Migrant Domestic Workers (Visas)
The Minister surprisingly mentions Gurkhas from a sedentary position. If I were him, I would not bring that subject up, but he has done. The very serious area that we are discussing is possibly an area for exemption. I can give the hon. Member for Reading, West, some comfort, in that it has occurred to me that although it may not be ideal to have a special visa regime in this area, that may be the least worst option. It may contribute to greater complexity in the system, but it may be a possibility.
