Proceeding contribution from Lord Knight of Weymouth (Labour) in the House of Commons on Thursday, 3 September 2009. It occurred during Grand Committee proceedings (HC) on Economic Downturn (Unemployment).
Economic Downturn (Unemployment)
I am concerned that the hon. Gentleman is putting forward the notion that the Committee is a talking shop. This morning, we started with a session of oral questions, much as we would start a sitting in the Chamber of the House of Commons. We have now gone on to debate an issue of great relevance to all our constituents, much as we would in the House. What is the difference?
