Proceeding contribution from David Anderson (Labour) in the House of Commons on Friday, 25 September 2009. It occurred during Grand Committee proceedings (HC) on Regional Economy (Tackling the Recession).

Regional Economy (Tackling the Recession)

I thank the Minister for giving way. This is not an original or new idea: we could nationalise the steel industry at Corus, which would protect it not only for now but for when we come out of the recession and start building things such as the 7,000 offshore turbines that we will need. That is what we should do.
