Proceeding contribution from Philip Davies (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Thursday, 29 October 2009. It occurred during Grand Committee proceedings (HC) on Responding to the Downturn and Planning the Future Economy.
Responding to the Downturn and Planning the Future Economy
The Minister never misses an opportunity to praise her personal fiefdom, Yorkshire Forward, but why does she think that an unelected and unaccountable quango is better at spending £330 million of public money than an elected body? Does she have such little faith in democracy and in the public who vote in elections that she thinks unelected bodies are better than elected bodies at spending money?
