Proceeding contribution from Nick Gibb (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Wednesday, 21 July 2010. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee of the Whole House (HC) on Academies Bill [Lords].
Academies Bill [Lords]
The discussions will carry on through August; not everyone is rushing away. Those schools that are determined to open as academies in September will be working throughout August to achieve that. The hon. Gentleman raised the issue of the costs of insurance and VAT. Those will be covered by the general annual grant paid to academies. He asked about federations, a question also raised by my hon. Friend the Member for North Cornwall (Dan Rogerson).
