Proceeding contribution from Nick Gibb (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Monday, 26 July 2010. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee of the Whole House (HC) on Academies Bill [Lords].
Academies Bill [Lords]
I am happy to do so. We shall be coming to the relevant clause later in the debate, but I have been persuaded by my hon. Friend's arguments, and as a result of his representations, and those of other people, we intend to amend the model funding agreement to raise the number of parents on governing bodies from one to a minimum of two. Requiring a ballot of all parents of pupils at the school would unduly politicise the process.
