Proceeding contribution from Baroness May of Maidenhead (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Monday, 13 December 2010. It occurred during Ministerial statement on Public Order Policing.
Public Order Policing
On the tactics used by the police when policing demonstrations, the police will always consider all the available options. I have set out clearly the current position on the use of water cannon in England and Wales, but that has not yet been approved by the Home Office— ... That is a correct statement of the facts. None have yet been approved for use in England and Wales, but of course such decisions must be taken in the light of the operational advice of the police.
