Proceeding contribution from William Cash (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Tuesday, 1 March 2011. It occurred during Debate on bill on Protection of Freedoms Bill.
Protection of Freedoms Bill
I note that my right hon. Friend did not actually say that she would be happy to do so. Does my right hon. Friend accept that however good the intentions may be, one of the great problems with the Bill is that it serially adopts, endorses and puts into British legislation European Court rulings, and that that in itself runs counter to the sentiments expressed only a few weeks ago when the House voted against a ruling by the European Court of Human Rights by 222 votes to 15?
