Proceeding contribution from Glenda Jackson (Labour) in the House of Commons on Thursday, 10 March 2011. It occurred during Adjournment debate on Housing Benefit.

Housing Benefit

On that very point, I have a briefing from the National Housing Federation, which states:"““There is a very limited supply of one bed properties into which people will be able to move. In 2009, just 38,700 one bed housing association properties were let to people of all ages in England. By contrast, the DWP's impact assessment identifies 240,000 households who fit the size criteria…Most of these people will see a cut in their benefit with no prospect of being able to move to a smaller social home.””"
