Proceeding contribution from Sarah Newton (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Thursday, 24 March 2011. It occurred during Adjournment debate and Backbench debate on Coastguard Service.
Coastguard Service
That is right. As the Minister began by saying, it is the people of the country, as well as seafarers, who have to feel absolutely sure that, whatever happens when the proposals are introduced, safety is paramount. The transparent way in which all the proposals will be published and scrutinised by the Transport Committee, and the fact that hon. Members will again have the opportunity to examine and debate the proposals in the House, should give people the assurance that they desperately crave at the moment, and give the answers to the questions which remain unanswered. Question put and agreed to.
