Proceeding contribution from David Amess (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Tuesday, 26 April 2011. It occurred during Adjournment debate on Camp Ashraf.
Camp Ashraf
The hon. Gentleman makes an extremely good point. I have said umpteen times that I very much regret voting for the war with Iraq, but he is right. The United States of America encouraged Britain to become involved. I hope that when the Minister replies to the debate he will give us an indication of what pressure is being placed on the US Government to help. The attack of 8 April is the second time that the Iraqi Government have resorted to using live ammunition and violence in brutally attacking defenceless and unarmed residents.
