Proceeding contribution from Naomi Long (Alliance) in the House of Commons on Tuesday, 1 November 2011. It occurred during Adjournment debate on Youth Employment.
Youth Employment
As somebody who worked in construction for a considerable period, I can say that one of the challenges is about apprenticeships for young people in the construction sector. Does the hon. Lady agree that the progress that has been made on developing programme-led apprenticeships, whereby people can still get into apprenticeships and training while they await employment, is a major step forward in engaging young people in education and training for a longer period than might otherwise be possible?
