Proceeding contribution from Baroness Northover (Liberal Democrat) in the House of Lords on Monday, 13 February 2012. It occurred during Debate on bill on Health and Social Care Bill.

Health and Social Care Bill

I would refer the noble Baroness to the public health outcomes framework and the way that this will be included in that. The framework is very widely drawn and I hope that the Opposition will generally welcome that. It builds on the work that they themselves did and I hope that they recognise that. I think that I have covered most of the issues that were flagged up. I reiterate that we appreciate enormously the commitment that noble Lords have paid to this area. We know how important it is; it sets the foundation for what happens later for many of these children. On the basis of that, I hope that the noble Baroness will be willing to withdraw the amendment.
