Ministerial correction made by Mike O'Brien (Labour) on Wednesday, 17 September 2008, in the House of Commons on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions.

Pension Credit

Mr. Touhig: To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions (1) what estimate his Department has made of the amount of pension credit unclaimed in (a) Islwyn constituency, (b) England and (c) Wales in each year since its introduction; [212800] (2) how many pensioners in Islwyn constituency are (a) eligible for and (b) receive a pension credit. [212801] [Official Report, 24 June 2008, Vol. 478, c. 188W.] An error has been identified in the written answer given to the right hon. Member for Islwyn (Mr. Touhig) on 24 June 2008. The original answer referred to the number of households in Islwyn in receipt of pension credit and stated: ““As at February 2008 there were 3,910 pensioner households—4,860 individuals—receiving pension credit in Islwyn constituency.”” The correct answer should have been: ““As at February 2008 there were 3,900 pensioner households—4,850 individuals—receiving pension credit in Islwyn constituency.””
